    Business Development Consultant

    The Agri Collaboratory (TAC) is looking to hire suitable candidates for its Secretariat.

    Scope of work:

    You will be part of The Agri Collaboratory’s (TAC) core secretariat, that engages with partners, volunteers, external stakeholders, Government as appropriate across several knowledge and operational projects across geographies and different stages of development. This entails working with senior stakeholders within TAC and outside enabling programs and co-creating and executing strategies that are relevant and viable, orchestrating and managing the org’s various programs to ensure sustainability and maximize impact by engaging with the ecosystem and stringing together collaboratives. 

    The focus will be on multi-disciplinary learning, strong planning, strategic operationalization, governance, on-time, and quality delivery across all tracks.

    Following will be the key responsibilities:

    Delivery Excellence / Partner interface / Institution Building

    • Attend external meetings on behalf of TAC Management.
    • Self-initiate engagements with Partners.   
    • Engage with stakeholders proactively through predictable delivery and effective communication.
    • Support​ in the documentation of learnings and potentially the creation of reusable project knowledge.
    • Conduct sessions as well as present TAC’s viewpoint to stakeholders.
    • Own initiatives, conduct​ rigorous secondary research to arrive at the insights needed to understand and solve a problem and / or to strengthen a partner discussion.
    • Deliver high-quality documents consistently and work​ with the team to ensure timely project delivery. 
    • Work with PR & Media team to reconcile collateral across the TAC Website and information repository.

    Reporting, Analysis, Systems and Process.

    Create reports, decks, use tools to support management team and ensure project effectiveness.

    Plan, coordinate and manage workshops with external stakeholders.

    Handle the project management and technology tools.

    Structure and manage common information repositories (on Google / Microsoft), define best practices, and create processes to ensure information hygiene and quality across multiple teams.

    Work smoothly with senior leadership and be able to receive and act upon constructive feedback.

    This work is intended to be Hybrid – online and physically in Bangalore . Exceptions will be some partner meetings and field visits if needed.

    We are looking for individuals with the following profile:

    Education/Experience required:

    • A minimum of 2-4 years of work experience at the intersection of technology and advisory roles, in project management and delivery, stakeholder engagement, business consulting in a corporate environment, in social enterprises, consulting firms or global foundations. 
    • Bachelor’s degree in economics, social work, development or management studies.
    • Strong problem solving, secondary research, data analysis skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
    • Native fluency in English and any Indian language.
    • Ability to demonstrate a high level of ownership, comfort with ambiguity, and strong interest in the impact sector.
    • Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
    • Self-driven, curious and adaptable personality with the ability to work independently
    • Prior experience in a client or customer-facing role will be an added advantage. Experience with the agriculture and/or technology sector would be helpful, but not necessary.

    • Strong motivation to learn by doing, ability to work on ambiguous challenges and to work collaboratively with stakeholders, co-founders, and volunteers.
    • Curiosity to stay abreast on current trends and developments in the agriculture/tech industry.

    Compensation: The business consultant will be paid competitively – with a fixed and variable component linked to performance and output quality.

    Co-Creating Digital Public Goods for Agriculture in Open Source with the Ecosystem & Government

    The Agri Collaboratory (TAC) Fellowship is designed to influence institutional and policy reform by building capabilities and a deeper understanding on issues impacting Agriculture – Credit, Data Interoperability, Gender

    Professional Role Description – The Agri Collaboratory (TAC) Fellow

    The Agri Collaboratory (TAC) is looking to hire suitable candidates for its Fellowship Program.

    Position: TAC Fellow with a two year commitment.

    Scope of work:

    • The Fellow will be actively involved in scoping several project workstreams to create a TAC Point of View and enhance collaboration between TAC partners.
    • Conduct secondary research in broad areas related to Agriculture, Technology, Policy, Ag Stack start- ups as well as participation in field projects, meeting partner organisations and coordinate efforts across Govt and Private sector.
    • Take full ownership and serve as the primary point of knowledge and contact for a project workstream – coordinating and interacting with leading Industry thinkers and several experts who are TAC Partners, management team members and TAC CEO as appropriate.
    • This work is largely intended to be remote and online. Exceptions will be some partner meetings and field research visits if needed.

    Key deliverables:

    • Develop concept notes, position papers, white papers, project and workshop reports.
    • Frame problem statements correctly and concisely; identify relevant data and information.
    • Translate research findings into actionable recommendations and build strategic narratives communicate research insights to key stakeholders – existing and potential TAC partners.
    • Present project outcomes at industry or other forums representing TAC.

    • Experience in writing and reporting – demonstrated through white papers, and research reports
    • Experience with the agriculture and/or technology sector would be helpful, but not necessary.

    Abilities / Skills Preferred:

    • Strong motivation to learn by doing, ability to work on ambiguous challenges and to work collaboratively with stakeholders, co-founders, and volunteers.
    • Curiosity to stay abreast on current trends and developments in the agriculture/tech industry.
    • Strong ability to network, establish contacts and build a powerful collaborative narrative.
    • Understanding of Design Thinking for problem-solving and in using design led tools (preferred).

    Compensation: The TAC Fellow will be paid a suitable monthly stipend and also an “end of contract” bonus linked to quality of output.

    Background: The Agri Collaboratory is a “non-compete” not for profit, Agriculture “Think and Do Tank”, co- creating Digital Public Infrastructure / Digital Public Goods (“DPIs” & “DPGs”) for Agriculture in Open Source, along with the Ecosystem and the Govt. Several of our partners are represented below. The Agri Collaboratory believes that complex societal issues need a holistic ecosystem-led collaborative approach. TAC is inspired by the vision of India emerging as a global leader in open source Agri innovation and the Indian [small, tenanted and women] farmer to be profitable, sustainable, and resilient. It was formed in 2021 with co-founders from diverse disciplines, leveraging the power of collaboration across Govt, Private & Academic Ecosystems; Open-source technologies and a borderless “outside in”, pool of global expertise, to solve complex societal issues. Under TAC there are a number of Agri workstreams and Open Source Innovation projects and Project AgCx for Rural Finance is a lead initiative with an objective to ease the access to finance for the small holder farmers.
